For groups it is to keep track of actual members. For private sites it is to keep lists neat and organized. The tutorial is for those who want to know how to remove deactivated watchers so their watchers list doesn't have a lot of blank spots on it.

It is helpful to know how to do things on DA without having to take so much time to figure it out, but I finally did figure it out then figured other people may want to know, too! Thank you for reading :book

Smart and easy. I never thought of this simple way to put the name a deactivated account into the blocked user field. Thanks.

The group option I figured out some time ago, since I go through the group members every so often. It took me awhile to figure out how to remove a deactivated watcher from the list of those who watch me. I tried the "block" list as a last resort and it actually worked.

Exactly. I tried that option as a last resort, since I couldn't figure out how else to remove a deactivated watcher from the watcher list.

Some time ago I discovered the feature in Manage Members to be able to kick a deactivated member of a group when sorting through the members' list. I like to keep things neat and organized, and it helps to know the "true" number of members in a group.

There's never gonna be a "how to remove people who watch you" right?
Almost half of my watchers are either inactive (they haven't logged in for years) or deactivated, and well whenever I look at my number of watchers I feel like I'm lying to myself haha

That is why I outlined how to remove deactivated watchers from those who watch you. The center part of the tutorial shows you how to copy the name of the deactivated user from the watchers list then add it to the block list to remove the name from the watchers list. That way you know exactly how many watchers you truly have :aww:
